Japanese inspired tattooing and art in the San Francisco Bay Area

Welcome! My name is Cindy Maxwell and I’m a San Francisco Bay Area tattoo artist, specializing in Japanese inspired tattoos and art.

I started tattooing in 1998 in Portland, OR and still love tattooing as much as the day I started my apprenticeship. My favorite things to tattoo are tigers, dragons, snakes, flowers, Quanyin and Fudō Myōō (really anything to do with animals, flowers and deities). You’ll usually find me working on large-scale tattoo projects like full sleeves, legs and back pieces, but I absolutely enjoy doing tattoos of all sizes. Don’t hesitate to ask for a smaller, one-shot tattoo…I love them!

When I’m not tattooing or working on a creative project, I love working out, spending time at the beach with my handsome little bulldog, learning something new or heading out on an adventure of some kind.
